Our Commitment
Victoria Carpets is on a journey to strive full circularity.
In the past two decades, Victoria Carpets has already significantly reduced energy consumption and green house emission per linear meter of carpet produced, across its manufacturing facilities. We continue to focus and invest heavily in ways to reduce waste, decrease our carbon footprint and produce more sustainable products.
Our signature and well-known wool carpet ranges are made using high quality NZ wool, which is a natural, biodegradable, renewable and organic fibre. The wool yarn is spun locally, at our state-of-the-art wool spinning mill in Bendigo (country Victoria), allowing for an effective quality control, reduction in waste and emissions.
Post-Industrial recycling, upcycling and repurposing practices are in place for raw materials, packaging and Marketing material, to name a few.
Victoria Carpets has various ongoing projects to achieve further milestones in our journey to decrease our carbon footprint, working internally across different areas of the business, primarily on reducing further the waste to landfill and to achieve circularity.
We are continuously working with our suppliers to ensure that collectively we improve our green credentials, reduce energy consumption and increase the use of recycled content. For example, our carpet tiles are made with approximately 25% recycled content in the backing and 30% recycled content in the fibre.

Investing in wellbeing
Wool is a natural, biodegradable, renewable and organic fibre. Our wool yarn is spun locally, at our Bendigo state-of-the-art wool spinning mill in country Victoria. This increases the control of our quality and reduces our carbon footprint.
Wool’s natural insulating properties make it suitable for any climate. The air pockets in the crimp of the wool act as an insulator by maintaining warmth in cold weather and keeping it cool in hot weather, resulting in less energy consumption.
Therefore, from the portfolio point of view, we have continuously invested in wool carpets, as wool is a hypoallergenic fibre, does not promote the growth of bugs and wool carpets can purify the indoor air quality, improving one’s overall wellbeing.
Our Community
Victoria Carpets recognises that it is part of a community. This is why we have engaged in a partnership with the Black Dog Institute to create awareness of mental health issues and to fundraise for their research and active support to people with mental health issues.

Our Certifications
Environmental and Quality Management Systems are in place to continuously challenge us to maintain the high standard Victoria Carpets is used to delivering. All products are independently tested and assessed under the Carpet Institute of Australia’s ACCS grading to evaluate their overall performance and environmental credentials.
Our products are certified by the Carpet Institute of Australia and other various internationally well-known bodies, that allows a project to accrue points towards green building schemes, such as greenstar. In fact, some of our wool carpets and tiles have already achieved ECS4+.
Victoria Carpets is committed to upholding the principles behind circularity as part of our business strategy, defining clearly the way we design, develop, manufacture and distribute our products, as well as advising to our customers on how to maintain and extend their life and, lately, managing their end-of-life.
